PassThePopcorn is the heir to the OiNK/What.CD culture in film and still the benchmark private movie tracker. It’s alive and active in 2026. Don’t panic if the homepage returns a 502 error — PTP has long masked its landing page from outsiders; it’s camouflage, not death.
How people join in 2026 — official paths
- PTP recruitment threads on other elite trackers. The main path: PTP officially recruits via threads on friendly top trackers (historically RED, HDBits and others), often with a mini-interview on film knowledge and rules. Strategy: establish yourself on a reachable elite tracker and watch its recruitment section.
- An invite from an existing member. Member invite privileges get switched on and off periodically; when they’re on, a friend inside can bring you in.
- PTP has no public interview system of its own (unlike Redacted) — don’t trust sites promising a “PTP interview”.
Fact
After What.CD died in 2016, PTP froze invites for a long time — hence its reputation as “the tracker you can’t get into”. Recruitment does work; the path just runs through reputation in the tracker ecosystem, not through your wallet.
