One of the oldest forums of the Russian internet (running since 2000) is alive in 2026. The recurring “ru-board is dead” rumors have a simple explanation: the forum is permanently blocked by the Russian regulator under anti-piracy law, so it won’t open from Russia without a VPN. The forum itself works fine.
How to get in (2026)
- Registration is open. No invites needed: go to forum.ru-board.com (via VPN if you’re in Russia) and register.
- Closed sections unlock by status, not by invite. The “dark” sections open automatically as your account ages and accumulates meaningful posts. No applications — just participate.
- There is an independent sister forum, ru-board.club — a fallback in case of problems with the main one.

Ru-board is an example of a resource that didn’t die on its own — a state block “killed” it for the Russian audience, while for the rest of the world it has worked for a quarter of a century.
