Habr is the largest IT resource of the Russian internet, and its invite system has been running for almost 20 years. Anyone can read and create a read-only account. An invite unlocks a full account: publishing, unrestricted comments, voting.

How to get an invite in 2026 — official and free

  • The Sandbox — the main path, always open. You write an article into the Sandbox; a moderator reviews it (usually 1–2 days) and, if approved, you get an invite and the article goes live. Note: since 2025 Habr officially runs texts through an AI detector (Giga Check) and plagiarism checks — AI-generated articles get rejected. It has to be a real, hands-on write-up.
  • An invite from a full member. Users with enough karma can invite — the fastest path if you know an active author.

Tip

Practical “how I built X” articles pass the Sandbox best: concrete experience, code, pitfalls, conclusions. Documentation retellings and obviously AI-generated texts are the main rejection reasons.
